Project Overview:
Decks by RTC undertook a deck remodel in Hebron, CT, after significant tree damage compromised the existing structure. The original deck was built with composite materials that were either discontinued or had aged inconsistently. As a result, the homeowners’ insurance covered a full replacement using Trex^® Transcend decking and railing systems, ensuring longevity and aesthetic appeal.

The remodeled deck features Trex^® Transcend Havana Gold decking as the main surface, beautifully accented by Spiced Rum picture framing, fascia, stair stringers, and risers. This bold contrast enhances the deck’s visual appeal, creating a warm and inviting space.

For safety and style, the Trex^® Transcend railing system in white was chosen, complemented by black round aluminum balusters for a sleek, modern touch. Additionally, to meet building codes for stairs with four or more risers, a Trex^® ADA-compliant graspable rail in black was installed.

To ensure the deck’s structural integrity matched the durability of the Trex^® materials, the project included additional footings, beams, and a full stair rebuild. This meticulous reinforcement guarantees a safe and long-lasting outdoor space.
